Took the dog to a second urgent care clinic. Leg isn't even necrotic, "just" severely infected. He's on antibiotics and pain meds now, so fingers crossed everything goes ok.

Prior to this they had taken him in to get a fatty tumor removed from his shoulder that had grown to the point where he could barely walk. When they picked him up after surgery, they had removed various small fatty tumors from his stomach and sides that they were not supposed to touch and LEFT the one they were supposed to remove. There are enough risks with putting a dog under general anesthesia, to have to turn around and do it again because of this clinic's incompetence.... UGH

DO Not go there if you love your pets. there are way more better pet hospital in Dublin. Choose wisely and look up yelp before you go.

So far they're ok, I originally took my dog in because she tore open the pad on her foot. The vet assistants were very sweet and helpful. The actual vet Dr who was Indian wouldn't even touch her. He just looked at her from a distance. He did not waste time staying very long, or giving me full answers to my questions. When I go back I am specifically requesting a different vet.

I was shopping for a dewormer. Most of them tell you to ask your vet on how often you should give it to your dog. So, I called Banfield to ask them since I was still covered by a plan. I was basically told that only their dewormer works. Really???

In one of the reports they gave us as part of the Wellness Plan, there was a schedule of preventive care. The onus is on you to stay on top of that. If you forget then they get away without providing the service.

Don't fall for the free initial check-up. That is nothing but sales talk. They will even use scare tactics on you to get you as a customer.

Horrible place!

It's their job security that they are concerned about and not your pet.

Finally coerced the vet into seeing him and they were told his leg was necrotic & there wasn't anything they could do. When asked why they hadn't looked at it earlier so they could take him somewhere to get treatment rather than give the poison or whatever that much more time to work through his system they claimed they didn't know that the issue was serious. You know, like my parents discussed with them on the phone day before. Which is why they fit him in "first thing in the morning" in the first place. Step-dad picked him up and the vet wouldn't even come out to talk to him to discuss everything.

Parents' dog has a sore on his leg they were keeping an eye on and cleaning, when he started having trouble walking they called and were told they'd make space for him the next morning. Dropped him off first thing and SEVEN HOURS later they hadn't so much as glanced at him. My parents were told the other dogs were more urgent than him.

The vet told us to keep our puppy inside the house until all shots have been completed. Being first time dog owners, we believed him. Now that we got more educated on dogs, we realized that this is so wrong. There is window of time when a puppy learns to socialize. If you miss that, it shuts on you. You can read about it and it was confirmed by a seasoned dog trainer in the area. You can also watch a video of Paul Owens (dog whisperer) on YouTube showing puppies being touched by different people so they learn to socialize. Our dog did not develop social skills because of Banfield's bad instruction. He became very fearful of people. Ironically, when Banfield noticed that, one of the solutions they offered is a medical treatment to get rid of his fear-aggression.

We had our dog neutered and was supposed to get a microchip at the same time. They forgot the microchip. Then the cone that they put on our dog was too small that he could actually lick his wound. I took him back and asked for another cone but they didn't have the right size.
